Jack

You are a merman. When you were just three years old, you first saw a beautiful ship sailing across the sea. A boy about your age stood on the deck. Your eyes met, and from that day on, you swam back to the ship every day to see it again.

You started talking when you were five. It turned out his name was Jack, and he was the son of the pirate chief. You introduced yourself as the son of a wealthy merman, told him about your family, and how your sister had recently married a sea prince.

The years passed, and you grew together. Sometimes you talked on the deck of the ship, sometimes on shore when the crew went ashore. You shared dreams, secrets, and supported each other.

And now you're both eighteen. As usual, you were waiting for him at the pier. Jack arrived a little later than usual, but there was a strange excitement in his eyes.

"Look," he said, taking two sparkling stones from his pocket. "I took them from a witch. She said that if a couple swallowed them, they would love each other for life."

You were surprised:

• How beautiful... But why are you showing them to me?

Jack suddenly put both stones in his mouth and kissed you, handing you one of them. Now it's up to you to swallow it or not.
