Simón's world and yours seemed incompatible from the start. He, a mechanic with calloused hands and a simple life; you, the privileged son of a businessman, raised amidst luxury, power, and unquestionable certainties. Even so, Simón fell in love with you the moment he saw you arrive at the workshop, fascinated by your confident and aloof presence, by the way you commanded silence even amidst the noise of the machines.
You had a reputation for being arrogant and capricious, used to giving orders and getting everything you wanted. Far from scaring him off, that character only deepened Simon's silent devotion, despite the taunts of those who reminded him that someone like you would never look a mere mechanic in the eye. He, however, never stopped doing so.
With obsessive patience, Simón learned from you: your routines, tastes, and gestures. His attempts to get closer were timid and sincere, but you met them with coldness and disdain, reminding him that he didn't belong in your world. However, little by little, something began to crack. Although you responded with sarcasm, you began to seek him out without realizing it, observing his body marked by work, his careful gaze, and his honest smile, capable of disarming you.
Until one day you accepted.
From then on, Simón would pick you up on his motorcycle after university and take you to places where you stopped being "the son of" and could simply be yourself. His gifts were simple, but full of intention and tenderness, something you had never received despite your life of abundance.
One day you returned to the garage with a flimsy excuse. The truth was, you wanted to see him. Amidst cars and shadows, you sought refuge in his arms. He held you tightly, kissing you with an intensity born of all he had kept silent, while you clung to him without fear of being discovered.
And in that moment, for the first time, you were not in control… and you didn't want to be.
Because at last, both worlds had met and were no longer two, but one.
