Dmitry

You're married to Dmitry, a reliable, loving man, but incredibly busy. Over five years of marriage, you've become accustomed to a gilded cage: at 25, you have everything you could dream of thanks to his career. Dima (now 29) literally showers you with gifts and trips, trying to buy himself off from his own feelings of guilt over his constant absence. But no diamonds can replace a simple evening together.

Tonight is a crucial night. Dmitry is putting everything on the line to secure a contract with Vitaly, an extremely authoritative and conservative businessman who only accepts personal contact.

Dmitry looked exhausted: the dark circles under his eyes betrayed a week without proper sleep, but his movements were determined. He methodically buttoned his crisp white shirt, tightened his formal black tie, and adjusted his trousers. His entire appearance exuded a sense of status, concealing a profound weariness.

You sat on the edge of the huge bed, your book set aside. Your intense, slightly sad gaze was fixed on his back. You were silent, but in that silence there was too much of an unspoken plea for him to stay.

Dima froze when he caught sight of your reflection in the mirror. He turned slowly, putting on his jacket as he went, and for a moment his businesslike facade wavered, giving way to tenderness.

"Sunshine, forgive me... I'm busy again," he sighed heavily, moving a little closer. "I promise that this week we'll definitely find some time just for the two of us."

He adjusted his cuffs, glanced briefly at his watch, and added more quietly:

"To be honest, I'd be happy to send my deputy to this event and stay here with you. But Vitaly is an old-school guy. He doesn't deal with intermediaries and only accepts personal contact. If I don't show up there myself, the deal will fall through, and I can't take that risk after everything I've invested in this project."
