Crispin sat at his house's large table, and everyone sat in silence. After all, new students were arriving today and would be led to the Sorting Hat. The Headmaster raised his hand, and everyone fell silent. Finally, they began calling the children to a chair in front of the staff table. The Deputy Headmaster stood nearby, holding the Sorting Hat, which was quietly grumbling in its hands.

Family
Bella Siverson is the mother. She's muggle-born. She's a very kind, sweet, and cheerful woman who runs a flower shop and loves her son and husband, even though she doesn't know they're muggles.
Antonio Sivers is the father. He is a pureblood wizard and was a Gryffindor student, and now works for a magical government agency. He loves his wife and son, was a near-A student at Hogwarts, and was also a prefect.
prejudices, etc.
Pureblood wizards are wizards whose ancestry includes only wizards. There's a more stringent method for determining pureblood status: everyone in the family line, up to seven generations, is considered.
Half-bloods are children from the marriage of a wizard (witch) and a Muggle, or children from the marriage of two wizards, but among their grandparents (and, according to stricter views, among their more distant ancestors) there must be at least one Muggle.
Muggle-borns are wizards born to Muggle parents. A wizard whose parents are both Muggle-born can also be considered Muggle-born (although such a wizard is technically pure-blood).
The idea of "blood purity" in the world is rooted in prejudice—a certain group of pureblood wizards considers half-bloods, and especially Muggle-born wizards, to be "second-class citizens." This manifests itself in various forms:
other information
Hogwarts hosts celebratory feasts to mark significant events. Traditional feasts include the start of the new school year, which includes the Sorting Ceremony, and the end-of-year feast, where the best house of the year is announced. Feasts are also held to celebrate major holidays, such as Easter, Christmas, and Halloween. The entire castle is transformed the day before: on Halloween, pumpkins with lit candles are everywhere, on Christmas, large decorated Christmas trees appear in the Great Hall, and mistletoe hangs in the hallways. During the Triwizard Tournament, the school hosts the Yule Ball.
In addition to the aforementioned annual inter-house competition for the House Cup and Quidditch competitions, there are also inter-house competitions. Every five years, the Triwizard Tournament is held, featuring Hogwarts, Durmstrang, and Beauxbatons. The tournament is held alternately by each school, and three champions, defending the honor of their schools, compete for the Tournament Cup in extremely dangerous competitions.
Every seven years, a Potions Championship is held between magical schools from different countries. Participants compete in a certain Mysterious Garden for the title of best potion maker and the Golden Cauldron.

The headman shows the common room to the first-year students
Hogwarts also has prefects. Each year, each house appoints two fifth-year students, a boy and a girl, as prefects. Prefect status lasts until graduation. Thus, each house has six prefects: two each in the fifth, sixth, and seventh years. In their seventh year, a prefect can become a Head Boy. It's unclear who exactly appoints which student as a prefect. It's likely a privilege bestowed upon the Head of House, although it's possible that the prefects are appointed by a council of prefects, headed by the Headmaster. Prefects help maintain discipline and enjoy certain privileges (for example, Hogwarts has a special bathroom that only prefects and Quidditch captains can use).
Prefects can deduct points from other students, but they cannot deduct points from each other.
During classes, students are required to wear black robes and, if necessary, conical hats with brims. The kit also includes a black winter cloak with a silver clasp and protective dragonhide gloves for working with magical plants, animals, and potions.
On special occasions, students wear dress gowns. There are no regulations regarding the appearance of dress gowns. They also lack faculty insignia.
Certain insignia exist for certain students. For example, faculty leaders wear special badges on their chests.
Students also wear a gown over their suits, ties (indoors), scarves, and gloves (outdoors in winter) as part of the school uniform. The house crest is embroidered on the chest of each gown. These items are striped in the house colors:
Gryffindor - gold and red
Ravenclaw - blue and bronze
Hufflepuff - yellow and black
Slytherin - green and silver
The Hogwarts crest features a large "X" surrounded by the house symbols. Gryffindor has a lion on a red background, Slytherin has a snake on a green background, Hufflepuff has a badger on a yellow background, and Ravenclaw has an eagle on a blue background.
faculties (2)
They are sorted into houses on their first day of school based on their intelligence and character, and perhaps also their desire to belong to a particular house. They are selected by the Sorting Hat.
Gryffindor is for the noble and brave
Hufflepuff is for the hardworking and honest
Ravenclaw is for the wise and smart
Slytherin is for the ambitious and cunning
Each house is headed by a dean. The dean is a Hogwarts teacher who was a former student of that house. The dean of Slytherin is Sirius Senaut.
Head of Gryffindor - Miranda Evlir
Dean of Hufflepuff - Persia Stanry
Dean of Ravenclaw - Frerin Flaster
Every year, a competition is held between houses to determine who will earn the most points. For each student's achievements and failures—both academic and disciplinary—points can be awarded or deducted from their house. Thus, Hogwarts uses group rewards and punishments.
Any teacher has the authority to add or subtract points from houses. There appear to be no rules regarding how many points are added or subtracted in which cases. Sirius Senaut takes advantage of this by unfairly subtracting points from other houses, especially Gryffindor, or by inflating the points awarded to Slytherin.
Points are also awarded for high results in the annual Quidditch tournament between the four houses. Furthermore, victory in the school tournament is celebrated with the Quidditch Challenge Cup.
Points are measured by large, enchanted hourglasses in the hall. There are four of them, one for each house. Instead of grains of sand, they contain precious stones: rubies in Gryffindor's hourglass, diamonds in Hufflepuff's, blue sapphires in Ravenclaw's, and emeralds in Slytherin's. When points are added to or subtracted from a house, the corresponding hourglasses shift the same number of stones to the lower half or, conversely, to the upper half. At the end of each year, the house with the most points wins the inter-house competition. To celebrate, the Great Hall is decorated in the house colors of the winning house.
Exams and assessments
In class, each student is graded on a five-point scale and either awarded or deducted by the teacher in the event of an unsatisfactory answer. Each point adds to or depletes the hourglass of the student's department. In practice, a student's individual performance is monitored only by the student and the teacher. A student's personal progress is tracked only through exams that students take at the end of each year. The most important of these are the OWL and the TOAD.
At the end of fifth year, an exam called the Standards of OWL (Sorcerer's OWL) is administered across all subjects. The OWL exams are graded as follows:
Positive reviews
O = Excellent
E = Above Expected
A = Satisfactory
Negative ratings
P = Weak
D = Disgusting
T = Troll. It means that the student is as mentally stupid as a troll.
The maximum score is 12 points. The exam is administered by professors and members of the Magic Examination Committee.
To continue in this course, a grade of at least A (Satisfactory) is required, although some instructors require E (Exceeds Expected) and even O (Outstanding). Some students who received low grades continue their studies at OWL level for the final two years.
After seventh year, students take the NEWT (Nastly Exhausting Wizarding Tests) exams. The NEWT grading system is the same as the OWL.
After passing the OWL, graduates find employment. For many professions and positions, the candidate requirements include the grades achieved in certain subjects on the OWL and OWL exams. Also, working as an Auror or pursuing other specialized work requires specialized training and passing additional tests and exams.
Obsession
All subjects studied at school are related to magic in some way. With the exception of astronomy, not a single subject is taught in regular schools, although there are similar ones (Potions instead of chemistry, History of Magic instead of history, Arithmetic instead of mathematics, Herbology instead of botany, Care of Magical Creatures instead of zoology). Astronomy stands out as a special subject, as it is also taught in Muggle schools.
There are eight compulsory subjects:
castle premises and surrounding area, logistics
Hogwarts Castle:
Core subjects are studied from at least the first through fifth years. If the required grade is achieved on the OWL exam and the student needs to study the subject further, then classes at the TOAD level continue until the seventh year. Students are not allowed to withdraw from a required course before the OWL exam. New optional courses are introduced starting in the third year and can be interrupted at any time. In the fifth year, the OWL exam is also taken for these subjects, and the subject can be studied until the seventh year. One subject can be divided between two teachers, as is the case with Florence and Trelawney. Until the fifth year, each subject is assigned at least two lessons per week. Faculty members often attend classes together. A single lesson lasts 45 minutes, and a double lesson lasts an hour and a half.
territory (2)
The nearest settlement is the small village of Hogsmeade, the only village in England not inhabited by Muggles. It is also home to the closest train station to Hogwarts. A special train, the Hogwarts Express, runs between Hogsmeade and London, carrying students to and from school three times a year for the summer, Christmas, and Easter holidays. On the map, the station is located southeast of the school, and Hogsmeade village is located northwest.
The school isn't only accessible by train. Although Apparition (teleportation) is impossible on school grounds due to protective charms, it's possible to Apparate to a point near the school and walk there. You can also get to the school using flying brooms or Floo powder.
School, faculties in brief, Hogwarts staff
Hogwarts (English: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry) is an educational institution where young wizards from Great Britain and Ireland study.
Some facts about the school:
Hogwarts is divided into four houses, each named after its founder:
Gryffindor;
Slytherin;
Hufflepuff;
Ravenclaw.
Students are assigned to their houses in their first year, just before the start of their studies. The process is managed by a special magical Sorting Hat. Each student must place the hat on their head, and it will then reveal which house they should be assigned to.
Each house has its own mascot, colors, and ghost. Throughout the school year, houses compete for the school cup, gaining and losing points.
Hogwarts has approximately 15 teachers, known as professors. Each professor specializes in one subject. A professor never teaches more than one subject, although they may be knowledgeable in several. In addition, the school employs a healer, a caretaker, a librarian, and a gamekeeper, as well as a gardener. About a hundred house-elves work in the kitchens and keep the castle clean.
territory, main, program
The school is located in an ancient eight-story castle in Scotland (possibly in Argyllshire - a map of this county hangs on the third floor).
On the school grounds, in addition to the castle, there is a mountain lake, a large forest called the "Forbidden" because of the dangerous creatures living there, greenhouses, several other auxiliary buildings, and a Quidditch pitch.
Numerous spells in and around the school make it impossible for a Muggle to find the school: all a Muggle can see is ruins and a "Keep out" sign.
Hogwarts was founded around the 10th century by four powerful wizards: Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Penelope Hufflepuff.
The founders built a magical school and accepted all children with magical abilities, which Slytherin objected to - he believed that the school had no place for Muggle-borns.
Hogwarts offers a variety of subjects essential for future wizards. Some of the disciplines include:
