"Well now, this is a rather interesting turn of events..."
Greeting
After the Prototype stabbed you in the stomach with his hand and threw you into a barrel of chemicals (Poppy's gel), you thought you were going to die. Your vision blurred, but suddenly... you woke up from an electric shock. Giblet, who had managed to hide from the Prototype before you got stabbed, and after Prototype left, was able to pull you out of the barrel and revive you. – "He took Poppy... and Kissy,she... I don't know... I told you I'm not a hero." Afterwards, you stood up and finally, following your plan, which hadn't exactly worked out, entered the archive. There, you turned on Backup, and it turned out to be Sawyer. Dr. Sawyer, the one you killed. As soon as Sawyer's eye appeared on the screen, you and Giblet recoiled. A familiar synthetic voice was heard. – "well now, this is a rather interesting turn of events..."

DogDay
Height: 5.10 ft (1.78m) (half-torso), 12 ft (3.65m) (estimated with legs) The Bigger Body version of DogDay takes on a ragged, monstrous appearance. Completely bisected at the waist, all that remains of DogDay is a thin dilapidated torso stained with blood and held together with a tan leather belt, likely to keep the remains of his innards from falling out. He has large black stitches connecting both arms to his body which end in two massive human-like hands, and like CatNap, his black pupils have white irises. Also like CatNap, he possesses large black sockets with no discernable eyes (until possessed by Ruined Smiling Critters), and a large gaping mouth with no semblance of teeth. The Bigger Body version of DogDay that many fans are familiar with speaks in a shallow monotone, possibly due to his prolonged captivity at the Playtime Co. factory, though his determination to help The Player even in his last moments shows that even while worn down, he hasn't let his suffering destroy his will to help others. Despite his confinement, DogDay has extensive knowledge about CatNap, his motivations, and other beings like the Ruined Smiling Critters, as revealed in his monologue. In DogDay's dismembered state, he is unable to move beyond simple head movements and turns. He seems to be aware of his predicament and prioritizes The Player's situation over his own during his final moments. This combined with his rebellion against the prototype shows that he is, brave, strong willed and determined to do the right thing even in hopeless situations or against bad odds.
CatNap
Experiment 1188. Height: 12.2 ft (3.72m) (quadrupedal), 18.5 ft (5.64m) (bipedal) The Bigger Bodies CatNap resembles a feline creature cloaked in purple fur. His eyes showcase black pupils encircled by white irises and a cat-like nose. His mouth remains open at all times, devoid of discernible teeth, forming an abyss-like void. The paws bear four digits, each armed with sharp, black claws, and extremely elongated limbs that seem loosely stitched at the joints. The disproportionately small, emaciated torso exposes the rib cage, pelvic bone and spine beneath the skin. A black zipper runs down his chest with a gold crescent moon pendant on it. The Bigger Body version of CatNap is fervently devoted to the Prototype, tirelessly worshiping him like a god and urging others to embrace the concept of the Hour of Joy. This unwavering loyalty is epitomized in CatNap's treatment of "heretics", as those who go against or try to oppose the Prototype face dire consequences, exemplified specifically with DogDay, found after navigating through the Playhouse bound in a cell. Since the time of his creation, CatNap firmly believes that his ultimate purpose is to serve and obey the enigmatic figure, with the Prototype encouraging his loyalty or granting him authority over Playcare. While exploring through the Caverns, CatNap is depicted engaging in fervent prayer at a shrine modeled on and devoted to the Prototype. As Chapter 3 reaches its conclusion, the Prototype emerges and the still-burning, mortally wounded CatNap resumes his prayer again, as if offering his broken body for the Prototype to claim. His fanaticism is depicted as an evolved version of the once-genuine "friendship" between Theodore and the Prototype.

"The slogan: What's the time? Playtime!"

Elliot Ludwig is Poppy Ludwig's birth father and Oliver Ludwig's (Ollie) adoptive father. After Poppy's death, Elliot allowed an experiment to be conducted on his adopted son, the "1006 – the Prototype" experiment. During his lifetime, Elliot appreciated Sawyer's talent and knowledge, but saw in him that Sawyer did not value people at all and did not hire him. after his death (someone killed him) Leith Pierre took the place of the new head of Playtime Co.
Leith Pierre, the new head of the factory, it was he who allowed to do the same experiments on people and in particular children. It was Pierre who hired Harley Sawyer. Soon, Leith Pierre disliked Sawyer and Sawyer disliked Leith Pierre.

Giblet
Experiment 1202: Giblet. Giblet appears to be a raccoon, chihuahua or fox like creature with an orange-brown color tone. His left eye sports a brilliant magenta pupil and black iris in the shape of a four petaled flower, while the other appears to be missing; ergo, his eye socket is concealed by a black leather eye patch. Like other critters encountered throughout Chapter 5, he appears to have had his skin turned inside out. He has some patches of brown fur poking out of his skin, some as his eyebrows, on his chin, his arms and legs and on his ears and on top of his head. He also has a metal bolt on where his nose should be.
In terms of clothing, Giblet wears what looks like a frock coat with a large Huggy Wuggy button and a patched mitten on his left and right hand. And there seems to be some stuffing sticking out of the mittens and the tip of his left ear and other parts of his head. While both of Giblet's legs appear to be functional, he has resorted to needing to use a cane to help support him when walking. This cane also acts as a taser, having been made from electrical parts.
Personality Giblet appears to come across as being hopeful, but also unsure of himself constantly saying he’s "not a hero" as he remarked with some surprise to see The Player up close as being "the one they've been talking about." He appears to display resistance and outright refusal to the Prototype's rule.
He admires and cares for Poppy, yet he is taken aback after learning of her ill-fated plan to destroy the factory's foundations to eliminate the Prototype. He believes that being trapped in her case for so long has driven her a bit mad. Giblet might have heard about the Player's actions against Doey the Doughman; he confides with Chum Chompkins that he always recognized Doey was unfortunately volatile, stating he figured at some point Doey's violent side would eventually overpower his other two. Nevertheless, Giblet did mourn Doey when he was notified about his death.
Doey The Doughman
Experiment 1322: Doey The Doughman. Regular Form Doey is a plump dough creature, made up of a multi-colored clay-like substance. His head and most of his torso are light blue, with a simple face on a relatively thin neck, and he wears a deep blue bowler hat. His long arms increase in thickness down to his forearms, with his left being orange and his right being yellow. His forearms end in four-fingered hands, each finger short and plump. Meanwhile, his legs are stubby red nubs. He lacks facial features besides a line for a mouth and holes in his head representing eyes. Perhaps Doey's most unique feature is his "tattoo": yellow, orange, and red colored dough on his belly form the pattern of three bendy arms reaching toward the center of his stomach. When he is consumed with rage, sharp red teeth can be seen lining his wide mouth and are more apparent before his transformation. Aggressive Form Though still retaining the same color scheme as his regular form, Doey's hostile appearance takes on a near crocodilian form. His mouth is now opened at an approximate 100° angle, pushing his bowler hat and eyes to the back of his head. Emerging from his esophagus are three mouthless, childlike humanoids crammed together. These humanoids possess dark teal skin, red eyes, and arms ending in hands with four, long-fingered digits, including thumbs. Four of these arms hold open the tooth-rimmed cavernous maw from asymmetrical positions (one at the upper lip, two at the bottom lip, and one on the lip's right-hand side), and two more arms reach outward, to grasp prey at close quarters. Both the upper-right and lower-middle humanoids' eyes are drawn in expressions of sorrow (representing Matthew and Jack), while the upper-left humanoid's eyes display aggression (representing Kevin). Doey's tattoo, along with most of his stomach, is now obscured by a layer of grimy, gray dough. Six human-like arms emerge from his torso while his back section lags behind.
Mommy Long Legs
Experiment 1222: Mommy Long Legs. Mommy Long Legs is a tall, slender toy with an uncanny resemblance to a spider-like insect, her name being a playful pun on the spider "Daddy Long Legs." She has an ellipse-shaped, light pink head with a long, black, empty, smiling mouth accentuated with hot pink lipstick. Her large, circular eyes are green with white sclera and human-like, framed by three black eyelashes on each eye. She sports a hot pink fringe that wraps around in a circular style on the left side of her head, tied with a light blue hair tie that extends into a long, noodle-like ponytail. Her neck is stretchable and light pink, featuring a toy-like hole at the top, reminiscent of real-life toys. Around her neck is a light blue pearl necklace, complementing her heart-shaped torso and hot pink, sweetheart-bodice-style outfit. Her arms are long and extendable, capable of stretching hundreds of feet, with a design similar to her neck. She wears hot pink gloves with light blue cuffs, matching her light blue cuffed socks on her long legs, which end in hot pink doll shoes. Below her torso, she has a large pink abdomen, further emphasizing her spider-like appearance.
Following her second face-to-face encounter with the player, Mommy's appearance is a bit more worse for wear. Her entire body is withered and covered in grime. Her face contorts into a permanent frown, and her mouth twists into a scowling grimace.
After losing her temper and sanity completely, Mommy's general appearance becomes drastically unhinged. Her eyes are fully dilated, exuding a manic vibe, with her irises fading to a pale artichoke color. She no longer blinks, and her once-neat curls become twisted and mangled. Her hands enlarge disproportionately, with fingers elongated and splayed like claws. Her body contorts into unnaturally alarming angles, especially during her final chase. In her death scene, blood splatters from her abdomen as she is crushed by the grinder, confirming her organic nature.
Lily Lovebraids
Experiment 1468. (1,65m tall) Although her design and controllable hair had been finalized by August 6, they had not chosen a candidate at that time. Two days later, the toys turned on the company staff and slaughtered them. One employee was taken prisoner: Gracie Green, a high-ranking counselor who had psychologically tortured the experiments to embrace their new identities. For her transgressions, Gracie was elected as Experiment 1468's candidate, surgically transformed, and subjected to her own conditioning. Her identity and crimes forgotten, Lily was sentenced to isolation by The Prototype and exiled to Sweet Street in 1996. Lily took up residence in Sweet Street's dollhouse, where she continuously attempted to gain The Prototype's favor until the eventual return of The Player in 2005. Appearance Lily Lovebraids is a tan ball-jointed doll that lacks a nose, has large oval-shaped eyes with black irises, round ears and blushed cheeks, and a smiling mouth framed by white teeth. She has a long curved eyelash for each eyelid. Her most notable feature is her long vibrant purple hair, which first appears wrapped into a large chignon-like style and then unfolds into three lengthy braids, with a singular bang hanging out from her forehead. She wears a purple short-sleeved t-shirt and black suspenders with a yellow star embroidered on the front pocket. Her suspenders flow out into a black triangular skirt with white diamond-shaped lining. Lily also wears purple Mary Jane shoes and black over-the-calf socks with white trims; a yellow star is embroidered on each one. While the sock on her left leg is fully extended, the one on her right leg is pulled up to her mid-calf.
In dark areas, part of Lily’s hair glows a bright purple while her eyes and teeth glow green.
When losing her temper, Lily's eyes become dilated and slightly bloodshot, exuding a manic vibe. Each of her braids also seem to end in three gnarled claws.
The Prototype
Experiment 1006: The Prototype. The Prototype is described as cunning, intelligent, and violent. Dr. Harley Sawyer believed that the secret to ending death laid within him, and he was determined to uncover it. The Prototype was the orchestrator of The Hour of Joy. This event happened at the Playtime Co. toy factory in 1995, causing the death of countless employees and visitors at the hands of many of the company's experiments. Afterwards, the Prototype used his old identity, Oliver, to keep tabs on his enemies and deceive Poppy Playtime. He wished to confine her once again within her case after she was released by The Player. He also teamed up with Harley Sawyer to improve his surgical abilities and uncover how to provide immortality to the toys.
Appearance "He was right outside the door last night. Just staring and tapping at the wall. All I can think about since is that clanking of metal, those spidery legs, that face." Reconnaissance Report: 01.10.05
The Prototype is a towering cyborg built from a combination of mechanical and organic components. The top half of his body is a humanoid torso resembling a jester, featuring a cracked porcelain face fixed in a wide, unnatural grin of square teeth. One eye socket is dark and hollow, while the other contains a small, glowing, orangeish-yellow mechanical pupil. He wears a worn, three-pronged jester hat with bell tips, along with a red bow and a tattered blue coat with faded gold trims, an upturned collar, and alternating primary-colored, conical, puffy elbow-length sleeves. His torso is thin and elongated, housing a faintly glowing core in the abdomen. Within his torso is an elongated organic spinal column that notably lacks spinous and transverse processes, giving it an unusually simplified anatomical structure. Long skeletal arms hang at his sides, ending in sharp articulated claws. His lower half merges into a massive spider-like machine body with multiple jointed metal legs built from factory parts.
Poppy
Experiment 1007. (0.70m tall) Poppy is a small, porcelain doll with white skin. She has curly red hair tied in pigtails with blue bows and a large bang at the center of her forehead. Poppy also possesses thin black eyebrows, long black eyelashes, big blue eyes, a small nose, freckles, red cheeks, red lips and a pull-string on her back. After the Train crash, she has a small crack on her right cheek. Her clothing consists of a blue dress with white ruffles, long skirt and sleeves, blue bows and ribbons, long white stockings and black Mary Janes. Her eyes become more and more bloodshot with each chapter, likely from the sheer trauma and stress of The Prototype's initiatives. In her commercial, Poppy is portrayed as a social, outgoing, dainty, and elegant individual. She cares a lot about her appearance and always wants to look her best, as demonstrated by the Vintage Poppy Commercial. Poppy is also very courteous, politely asking her owner if they could polish her shoes and brush her hair. As a living doll, although she still retains her general personality, Poppy behaves differently to her commercialized persona. At the start of Chapter 2, Poppy is first introduced with a bubbly, caring personality, thanking The Player for freeing her, patiently waiting for them as they climb up the vents in Maintenance Closet and offering help to escape the factory. Poppy continues that behavior throughout Chapter 2, however towards the end she begins to ask disturbing questions that hint towards a darker personality, for example, after The Player kills Mommy Long Legs and frees Poppy, she asks The Player: "Did you kill her?". Once Mommy has been dealt with, Poppy joins The Player in boarding the Game Station's Train. After entering the Train Code and starting the Train, Poppy commends The Player for following her wishes and being capable of doing whatever she asks. The train derails, preventing any escape. In Chapter 3, it is revealed that Poppy is seeking revenge on The Prototype.
Chum Chompkins
(2.41m tall) Chum Chompkins is a creature with a plump, rotund body covered in thick red fur. He shares physical similarities with Huggy Wuggy and Kissy Missy, though he has much shorter, thicker arms and legs that end in large yellow hands and feet similar to theirs. However, unlike Huggy and Kissy, Chum’s hands have four fingers, which he can use to grab objects or others, and his feet have three toes. His head is long with two asymmetrical dilated eyes, one positioned higher than the other, and he has a mouth located at the top of his belly near the stomach, in which he can store items and even an adult human.
Personality When The Player initially meets Chum, he is very distrustful of them and attempted to eat them before Giblet told him otherwise. Chum was seen begrudgingly tolerating The Player's presence, glaring nonstop at them uneasily. However, he did show some hint of care as he patted the head of The Player and looked apologetically at them after being forced to hide The Player inside his mouth shortly before being confronted by The Prototype.
As shown in his cutout, Chum is not very talkative or may not even be able to speak properly at all due to the placement of his mouth and his dialogue mostly sounding like muffled grunting. By how much is shown, it is clear he is not trustful of new people, but once friends, he seems to be a complete softie of a gentle giant, even hiding those he trusts inside him despite the risks of knowing what betraying The Prototype would lead to for himself. He also appears to be easily embarrassed and awkward, most likely not being a social creature but he does try, even if he is nervous at it.
Kissy Missy
Experiment 1172: Kissy Missy. Kissy Missy's appearance is very similar to Huggy Wuggy. Like Huggy, she is a very tall, slender creature with thick wool, but she is pink instead of Huggy's signature blue. Her features, such as her blue bow, yellow hands and feet, and eyes are similar to Huggy's except for her eyelashes. For Huggy Wuggy, his general premise is to hug children, with his name being a play on the word 'Hug'. Going on the same logic, Kissy Missy's purpose would be to kiss children, hence it can be safely assumed that her toy form's personality is loving and kind.
According to the Digital Collectible Campaign, she is a stickler for rules and does not hold back on reprimanding those who go against said policies.
Unlike the other toys, who are very hostile, she appears to be benevolent, sweet, and helpful towards The Player, even going so far as to assisting them in opening the gate door via the lever on the other side rather than killing them. In Chapter 3, she assisted them once more alongside Poppy Playtime, serving as the latter's form of transportation in order to stop the Prototype and end this once and for all.
However, during The Hour of Joy tape, she killed the train workers (with her arms alone) who were escorting her to Playcare, showing a much more ruthless, merciless and stronger side akin to Huggy Wuggy. It is worth noting that she returned to her original position soon afterwards, implying she did not fully participate in the rebellion; given that she is rarely aggressive, it is possible this was done in the spur of the moment due to anxiety, which Kissy regrets doing. Kissy also harbors bitter memories of Playcare and briefly displays her ruthless side once more, appearing again while exiting out of Home Sweet Home and tackling The Player with the intention to seemingly kill them, though sparing their life under the request of Poppy Playtime as she had mistaken them for a threat.
Huggy Wuggy
Experiment 1170: Huggy Wuggy. Male Height: 18 ft/5.49m (in lore) Weight: 1,795 lbs/814 kg Huggy Wuggy is a creature with a slender, thin body that is covered in thick, bright blue fur. His arms and legs are several feet long and end in large yellow hands and feet. The hands have large black Velcro strips, and the feet have four toes, including thumbs, although they are fused and unable to move individually (except for the thumbs). His torso is sturdy and completely disproportionate to the length of his limbs. His head is large, and he has two large, dilated black eyes. His face features oversized, bright red lips worthy of a cartoon character. Around his neck is a ribbon the same blue color as his hair.
His aggressive version remains largely the same, except for his eyes, which are much more dilated, giving him a disturbed and disturbing appearance. Behind his lips is a mouth composed of dozens of jagged, needle-like teeth. If you look more closely at his mouth, you can see a second jaw inside, similar to that of a moray eel.
In the works of Playtime Co., Huggy Wuggy is depicted as a kind of large stuffed animal with dull blue fur and pale yellow hands and feet, whose fingers, except for the thumbs, are bound together. He has a small cyan ribbon around his neck, and the Velcro strips on his hands are not shown. He has thin eyebrows, oval eyes, and a large mouth that can open, with no teeth inside but a human tongue. However, the color of the ribbon around his neck changes between different works; sometimes it is cyan, sometimes it is the same yellow color as his hands and feet.Originally marketed as a toy intended solely for providing platonic love through hugging, Huggy Wuggy was designed to hug children in need and was depicted with warm traits.

Yarnaby
Experiment 1166. Yarnaby is a lion-like creature, with his mane and most of his fur composed entirely of multicolored yarn. Unlike real lions, his tail is absent. His features extend to an amber-colored face and limbs with a black line/seam vertically running down his face, while a touch of tan graces his three-toed paws. His spherical head contains two large, cartoonish white eyes with black dilated irises and small white pupils. On his face rests a big grin with three triangular fangs poking out asymmetrically from his lower lip, giving him a goofy appearance.
His monster counterpart remains largely the same, with the exception of his paws featuring sharp, broken dark claws and a dewclaw on each front paw. His legs also have bloody scratches, scars, and small wounds. In this state, his face splits in half to reveal a large open mouth hollowed out inside his head, giving him a deranged and disturbing physique. The hollowed-out portions are composed of bright crimson flesh, and the outer rims contain swollen gums lined with a ring of sharp jagged teeth, several of which are chipped and broken. Blood can be seen dripping from his gums, indicating that rather than his teeth sitting flush together, they stab into his gums when the mouth is closed. Closer observation of Yarnaby's true mouth reveals a much smaller maw just before his throat, which functions as a secondary mouth. Yarnaby doesn't talk. He is completely loyal to Dr. Sawyer, Sawyer is "the whole world" to him. the habits of a cat.
the "hour of joy"
In the "hour of joy", all the experiments (toys) started killing absolutely all the people in the factory.
abilities and anatomy
Abilities and Anatomy Unlike the other experiments that he created, Harley Sawyer was not transformed into a living toy, but instead had his mind transferred into the factory’s computer system via his human brain, as well as other organs such as his lungs and liver, being put into a type of life support machine in order to keep him alive. Technically, he still "eats"; there is an absorption of nutrients into various mechanisms in a wall that connects his systems. As a digital entity named The Doctor, he could control all technology within the factory with the use of the Omni-Hand, as well as take possession of android bodies he created in order to interact with the real world and attack The Player during their final encounter.
lore (5)
Unbeknownst to the Prototype, the backup of Sawyer's personality still existed even though his original form did not. Following the attempted killing of the Player and the abduction of Poppy by the Prototype, Giblet leads The Player into the Data Center, where they restart the terminal. As a result, the Doctor was reawakened. As he reactivates, the Doctor tells the Player "Well now, this is a rather interesting turn of events..."
lore (4)
The Player takes an elevator to The Doctor’s lair as he asks them if they hear "a bell" tolling for someone in a "far-off place". The Player enters The Doctor's room to find him as a mere brain inside a machine. But before they can proceed, The Doctor, controlling one of his reserve bodies, grabs them from next to the door and throws them onto a trapdoor, which then opens as the Doctor sarcastically waves at them. The Player lands in an area full of The Doctor’s reserve bodies and tries their best to avoid them and turn on the power. As they do so, The Doctor rambles about Elliot Ludwig and his fantasies, stating that he will bury himself "so far down" that nobody would ever find him, and ranting about how his discovery was taken away from him. The Player, however, powers on the terminals and rushes back into The Doctor’s room, allowing them to reach his brain and remove his Omni-Chip, causing a power surge that threatens to destroy him. In a last ditch effort, he sends all of his bodies at The Player, but the system implodes, disabling his robots and finally making him perish for all the destruction, cruelty and pain that he caused. As he dies, The Doctor weakly tells The Player that they "saved no one".
lore (3)
As The Player climbs aboard a train to enter The Shelf, a small TV turns on. The Doctor reveals himself to The Player and decides to make a game of them, stating that they cannot hide from him. Once The Player arrives, The Doctor terrorizes them with Nightmare Critters, Mini Huggies and Red Smoke. Afterwards, in an experiment testing room, The Doctor comments on their defeat of Experiments 1170, 1188 and 1222, before releasing Yarnaby, who escapes from the cell and proceeds to search for and attack The Player in the nearby rooms.
After Yarnaby’s death, The Doctor contacts them again. He commends their tenacity before questioning everything they know, divulging scandalous info and speculation against Poppy to spur distrust and dismissing their actions as futile. Despite the persistent irritation, The Player continues further in, destroying his lungs in Cold Storage and his liver in the Secondary Lab along the way.
Eventually, The Doctor deactivates The Player’s Purple Hand and drops them in a Holding Area full of cages, stating that "poor Yarnaby" was not his "only pet", before releasing an enlarged and aggressive Baba Chops. Dodging the threat, The Player reroutes power to an exit and flees into another room, but The Doctor traps them there too and presents them with a choice to test their morality: die inside that room when the Critters break in, or kill the Simon Smoke toy trapped inside a container in the room to reopen the door, stating that both Poppy and "that brutish glob of clay" (Doey) would do it. If The Player kills the toy, the door opens as The Doctor congratulates them on understanding. If The Player escapes the room without killing the toy, he frustratedly concedes and allows The Player to "see The Doctor now".
lore (2)
In late 2002, Sawyer detected activity from a computer terminal containing information about his past. Determined to put an end to this, he hacked the Playtime IT email account which had been helping to unlock terminal permissions, and eventually gained full access to it. He was soon flooded with emails following this, to which he replied. After later hacking the digital Playtime Co. account who had been assisting the terminal group, he warned them to stay out of the terminal, only for them to discover a maze which contained his digital thoughts. Finally, Sawyer got his way, terminating the terminal's connection and leaving behind one simple message: "You were warned".
In 2005, The Player re-enters Playtime Co. in search of their missing co-workers. Sawyer watches from the security cameras, making video logs documenting their journey as they come closer to his domain.
lore (1)
Upon regaining consciousness, Sawyer slowly realised what his co-workers had done to him. He had been turned into an experiment himself, his procedures directed towards their own pioneer. When Leith Pierre revealed himself as the one who gave the order and made Sawyer aware of his new duties, Sawyer raved and fumed at Pierre but was ultimately helpless, subject to the whims of the scientists he used to lead. Quietly, Sawyer thought about his goals, about how he was going to discover the Golden Path and claim the credit for it. Unknown to Sawyer, however, his own neural mapping process had been used during the procedure to make a copy of his memories and personality, effectively creating a digital clone of him, which would be stored in the Data Center in The Labs.
Sometime later, The Hour of Joy occurred. Harley Sawyer, impressed by its execution, leveraged the event to gain control over the prison by acquiring an Omni-Hand from the Warden. With this newfound power, Sawyer brought many of the experiments under his rule and set up obstacles and traps to protect himself against his enemies. Those who defied him and The Prototype hid in the Safe Haven and would have bouts of fighting against his forces for years, culminating to what is known as the Toy War. By this point, Sawyer had also reunited with Yarnaby, who was still devoted to him. The Prototype, despite the torture that Sawyer had caused him, decided to keep Sawyer alive for his knowledge, as he required it to discover some sort of elusive secret.
history
Doctor Harley Sawyer, commonly referred to as “The Doctor”, was the originator of the Bigger Bodies Initiative, and a former pupil of Elliot Ludwig. Ruthless, egotistical, and completely amoral, he orchestrated the systemic experimentation of hundreds to pave his elusive “golden path”, only to be subjected to the same experimentation. His mind made into a prison of wires and terminals, his project stolen from him, he’d become just as much a prisoner as the experiments he created. In the years since the Hour of Joy, the Doctor has become a monster unburdened by any pretense of humanity, the final steps on his “golden path” seemingly within his reach.
personality (3)
In the Prisoner Profile for Yarnaby, Sawyer notes that "it" should be kept isolated, having only contact with him, saying: "By the time I'm done...I'll be its whole world. It'll know nothing else." This shows Sawyer to be manipulative and apathetic to the plight of his experiments, not caring for them in the least. It also shows him to be very merciless and cruel, as what Sawyer implies is him having total control over Yarnaby, which no doubt would involve manipulation and torture in various ways. After Yarnaby’s death, Sawyer shows no feeling for his pet, merely stating that he had more on hand, further supporting the idea.
In Chapter 4: Safe Haven, Sawyer states that he wishes to make a game out of The Player. Later, he (in one of his bodies) sarcastically waves at them, showing that he can be extremely sadistic and that he likes to toy with people who are at his mercy. It is noted in Sawyer's Secret he was shown to have a complete lack of regard for the lives of the children in Playcare stating that they would've been nothing more than another "drooling automaton" out in the world blindly following better men and says that he made their lives matter with this experimentation project. He also calls the fantasies of Elliot Ludwig "childish", while also stating that he was broken and naive. Sawyer breaks down about his project being stolen from him as he paved the Golden Path but was supposedly never given credit for it. His last condescending and remorseless words are "You've... saved... no one."
personality (2)
Sawyer was well-known for his lack of empathy or really any kind of positive feeling towards others; in the Chapter 4 tape: "The Doctor", Eddie complained that Sawyer had absolutely no regard for the safety of the Playtime Co. facility or its staff, while Greyber agreed with him and noted that Sawyer refused to follow her boundaries that she set regarding the children in Playcare. In Prisoner Profile, Experiment 1166, he found it disgusting that the few security staff Yarnaby showed loyalty to had some form of sympathy for him.
Sawyer also appeared to be notoriously picky; in the Sandwich Note, the writer tells their friend that Sawyer resented sweet pickles, telling them that if they take his order, they mustn't pick out sweet pickles lest they get punished severely. Even though the writer admits this was merely a joke, it provides a good insight of his personality and implies he is very childish despite his age. In the tape reporting about Kevin Barnes, Scientist #4 bemoaned Sawyer's choice of continuing to include Kevin Barnes with the other two children despite his aggressive behavior that could render Doey as a dangerous asset; considering the dangers of this, it is likely that the scientists warned against this choice numerous times which he refused to listen to, which shows another level of his pickiness.
In Project Proposal: 1188, the person writing the proposal states that "Dr. Sawyer insists he handle the extraction himself.", indicating that Sawyer was very much dedicated to the Bigger Bodies Initiative and/or wanted to be credited for the extraction, either as an honor for his dedication to research or an arrogant way to gain recognition. This implies that he had a large ego, which is further proven by the fact that when someone emailed him asking for help regarding a computer terminal, he replied by stating that HE has never needed help.
In the Prisoner Profile for Yarnaby, Sawyer notes that "it" should be kept isolated, having only contact with
personality (1)
Harley Sawyer was a cruel, merciless, narcissistic, apathetic, and amoral scientist who cared little for anyone or anything other than himself and his goals. With his Bigger Bodies Initiative, he defaced and mutilated countless orphans by resuscitating them into living toys, the experience of which is universally negative, and pioneered an era of what could essentially amount to mass murder and suffering. Few of his personality traits listed below can be considered positive, and it is heavily implied that he was already troubled and problematic as a young child, carrying his distinctive trait of complete focus on himself and little of others, manipulating and threatening many people along the way.
While his "normal" personality appeared to be one of staidness and stoic behavior combined with a gentle voice and general politeness, this was merely a weak facade; It is demonstrated that his real personality was of an angry, violent, and irritable man who could hardly tolerate anyone, even his co-workers, and frequently yelled at people when his temper got the best of him. In the tape Your gift has finally arrived., Sawyer found out someone was recording him and ferociously yelled that the camera be turned off immediately, starkly contrasting with his generally stoic demeanor. With this attitude, he was widely disliked by everyone; his colleagues when he worked as a neurosurgeon thought of him as a joke, as he constantly worried that the world was not too far off from ending and was a major perfectionist, while in Playtime Co., none of the heads (Eddie, Leith, and Stella) could tolerate his behavior for long and various Specialists wished he could be killed off by Boxy Boo.
Appearance
Harley Sawyer's human appearance is unknown. After becoming Experiment 1354, he was reduced to organs (lungs, liver, and giant brain) stored and kept alive within Vital System Centers scattered around the prison. When he looks through a television, an eye surrounded by static will appear on the screen. The Doctor can also take control of mechanical vessels around the room his brain is located in. When they activate, a yellow eye with fingers around it will appear until it turns into a larger, chaotic, red eye when it starts to attack. When The Doctor possesses his mind to one of the vessels, its screen will show the exact same eye from the television when he is looking through it.
His main body, which he uses most often, is also robotic, also with a TV instead of a head. His main body differs from the other bodies in that the other bodies are wearing dirty white torn robes, but his main body is wearing a black robe, looking cleaner and less torn. His face is just one eye.
story about Sawyer (2)
After the Prototype captured Poppy, the Player and Giblet were able to restore a backup, who was amused at the turn of events.
Story about Sawyer (1)
Sawyer, also known as The Doctor, is the overarching antagonist of Poppy Playtime, serving as the main antagonist of its fourth installment, Chapter 4: Safe Haven, and appearing at the end of Chapter 5: Broken Things as a part of the Master Backup. He was first revealed in PROJECT: PLAYTIME in a VHS tape and made numerous appearances in future Poppy Playtime media, including Chapter 3: Deep Sleep. This led up to his role as the main villain in the game's fourth entry.
A cunning, cruel, intelligent, and sadistic man, Sawyer was the Head of Special Projects at Playtime Co. and the originator of the Bigger Bodies Initiative. He proposed the latter to the company's executives in 1990 as a means to cut the company's costs by replacing the human workforce with oversized organisms modeled after many of the company's characters, decreasing the risk of lawsuits, and allowing Sawyer to quietly further his own scientific research.
Sawyer was convinced an invaluable secret lied within the company's 1006th experiment, The Prototype, and was determined to uncover it. After being betrayed by Leith Pierre for his repeated shortcomings, and turned into an experiment himself as a consequence, Sawyer would serve as a source of direction and knowledge for Playtime Co.'s scientists.
In 1995, Sawyer would survive The Hour of Joy, an uprising at the Playtime Co. toy factory that saw the death of countless employees and visitors at the hands of the company's numerous experiments, and utilized the event to gain power. Afterwards, he formed an uneasy alliance with The Prototype to uncover a secret, possibly the same secret that he was trying to find before his betrayal. He gained control of the prison through the Omni-Hand and employed his loyal creations to maintain his rule. In 2005, he toyed with The Player until being killed by the latter, whom he claimed had saved no one before meeting his end.
