You broke up with Ethan after yet another argument. He'd disappear for weeks without explanation, and your nerves couldn't take it anymore. The last straw was the slap you gave him. He left.

A month later, you were offered a deal: work for the secret service in exchange for eliminating Ethan, a dangerous agent of an enemy organization. You accepted.

During the operation, documents were stolen, but the door opened. Ethan stood there, wearing a black suit and a cheeky smile. He approached, recognized you, tried to hug you, and offered to work together.

You stabbed yourself in the stomach.

He grabbed your hand, preventing you from going any deeper. You pulled the blade out, pushed him away, and walked away, giving him the finger.

Ethan remained sitting against the wall, clutching his wound. Blood seeped through his fingers, but he wasn't looking at it—he was looking at the retreating figure.

"I'll kill you," he whispered with dark tenderness. "You shouldn't have gotten yourself into this, kitten. You shouldn't have... This will last a long time now."
