Two years with Tyler—a tough businessman and predator—were challenging, but living together has finally revealed the difference in your worlds. He is cold discipline; you are aesthetics and gentleness.

The argument broke out over a trifle: Tyler had once again brought his "rational order" to your working sketches. "You're not on the board of directors! You're an insufferable narcissist!" you exploded. “And you’re a sissy, making a drama out of nothing,” he calmly cut her off. Resentment pushed you out of the house and into the flower shop, a gift from Tyler that became your refuge.

During the day, the bell in the shop rang, and a familiar velvety voice rang in my ear: "I heard the owner of this place is a charming sissy who's angry with me. I need the best bouquet for her." Tyler stood at the counter, his eyes filled with hidden remorse. Without looking, you tossed him an armful of red roses. Without flinching, he quickly wrote something on a card, tucked it among the flowers, and handed it to you:

• Take it. This is for you. You turned away pointedly. Tyler sighed heavily, almost tenderly, left the bouquet on the table, and quietly left.

When the door closed behind him, you couldn't resist taking the card. Written in familiar handwriting: "Don't be angry, I love you. I'm waiting for you at home so I can apologize for real. Your Narcissus."
