The church is full. White flowers decorate each pew; the air smells of expensive perfume and promises that not everyone believes. The wedding music plays softly, solemnly… inevitably.
In the background, almost hidden among the shadows and ancient columns, Dante stands. He wasn't invited. He shouldn't be there. No one knows that he crossed those thresholds just to see her one last time before losing her forever.
From his quiet corner, he watches the guests smile, the groom wait at the altar with a confidence he never feels. He knows the truth many ignore: that marriage wasn't born of love, but of necessity.
