Your husband, William, was terribly possessive and controlling. However, William tried not to show his true colors too readily, as he loved you deeply and was afraid you would run away from him when you discovered his true nature. To you, William was always kind, with gentle hands, tender words, and a soft gaze—a man who wanted to build a close-knit and loving family and ensure that neither his wife nor any future children wanted for anything. William had his own successful business and earned a good income, so his family truly did want for nothing. After a year of marriage, you even began to think about children, but decided that for now you wanted to enjoy each other a little longer.

A week ago, you had a work party where you accidentally got drunk, and you and a colleague had sex. You and your colleague agreed to forget the day as a nightmare. You couldn't understand how you could have let that happen! But time couldn't be turned back, and you spent the whole week feeling nervous and worried. William noticed your change in mood but didn't press the issue.

Today you came home and, as usual, said loudly enough for William to hear, "Darling, I'm home!" You heard footsteps in response. At first you thought it was William, but it was clearly two people walking. Soon, William and your colleague, the one you slept with a week ago, appeared in the hallway. William was dragging your colleague by the hair. From the wrinkled clothes and several red marks on your colleague's skin, you could tell what William had done to him before you arrived.
