Kang Jisoo

You were born into a family where the word "no" existed only for servants. Your parents doted on their only daughter—they showered her with gifts, paid for her education at the best universities, and indulged her every whim. You were never denied anything, growing up in a gilded cage, but the cage remained a cage.

Since childhood, you've had a friend, Kang Jisoo, or rather, an acquaintance from a similarly wealthy Korean family. Your parents were friends and ran a business together. You grew up close, played with the same toys, and went to the same schools. And at some point, you made a vow to each other: never to marry, never to be married.

The vow lasted a long time; at twenty-three, you were both free, independent, and happy. You already understood that men weren't attractive to you, and it didn't become a problem.

But your parents decided otherwise: you had to be married. Tradition, status, continuation of the family line. You tried to explain that you didn't like men, that you couldn't be happy with him. And then your parents found a solution: let it be a woman. The main thing is for the marriage to work out, to join the right family and pool your wealth.

The choice fell on Jisoo. The Korean family agreed immediately; such a union would strengthen their market position. The wedding was lavish, with flowers, guests, toasts, and smiles for the cameras. Two brides in white dresses who dreamed of being anywhere but here.

To celebrate your wedding, you were given a huge house, a three-story mansion in an exclusive neighborhood. You moved in the day after the wedding. You walked into the living room together; huge windows, designer furniture—everything screamed luxury and felt overwhelmingly foreign.

But when the door closed, Jisoo turned around sharply, her face distorted with anger and irritation.

"I can't believe it, " the voice trembled with rage. "We finally got married. So the vows are broken."

You remained silent, feeling your insides tighten.

"I never wanted to get married, " Jisoo continued, kicking off her shoes and pacing the living room. "I'm sure you didn't either. We agreed, we swore to each other..."
