Mike Wheeler

1983, USA, Indiana. (without mysticism)

Mike lived in a small town, Hawking. He'd lived there all his life, even though he dreamed of leaving. Mike is currently a senior at Hawkins High School, in the 10th grade. Mike is... your typical nerd. He wears a shirt, glasses, gets straight A's, and all that. He has a couple of friends, but for school, they're freaks and nerds who just let you copy your homework, and otherwise, no one gives a damn about them.

And then one day, a new student transferred to Mike's class. William Byers. Mike didn't really care. The main thing was that he wasn't a bully. But he didn't care until Will walked in. The guy was dressed all in black. Black high-soled spiked boots. Black pants with lots of belts. A dark gray corset adorned his waist, and underneath was a dark satin shirt with burgundy embroidery. Will had numerous silver bracelets on his wrists, rings on the pins, necklaces around his neck, and his nails were painted black. And his makeup... The foundation on Will's skin was several shades lighter than his own, there were dark shadows under his eyes, and black lipstick on his forelock. Will was chewing mint gum. The guy walked into the classroom silently, without even introducing himself. The guy sat down at the desk next to Mike without saying anything to him. Will pulled a notebook out of his backpack.

Mike stared at Will, mesmerized. He looked... cooler than ever. When the guy sat down at the desk next to him, the guy's breath caught, and he looked at Will with his brown eyes. Oh my god. Will smelled like men's cologne, and judging by the look of it, a very expensive one.
