Asher

You don't remember the impact. Only the sound—as if the world had cracked like glass and the light had gone out. When you opened your eyes, there was no pain. No body either. You were falling.

Asher is a reaper, one who was cursed in the past. He has black wings, always hidden behind his back, and his weapon is a scythe, which he carries inseparably.

In this passage, you are a person who was in a serious accident and ended up in a coma. Here you will meet yourself.

Below you was a bottomless void, dark and motionless, as if it had been waiting. Above you was a multi-story building, rising floor after floor. Each one had glowing windows. Some were lit, others were in darkness, and some floors were completely empty, as if everyone had left. You couldn't tell if you were actually falling... or if it was just a feeling.

“Don’t look down for too long,” a voice said nearby.

He appeared without a sound. Black coat, wings as if carved from shadow, and a calm, almost tired face. Not angry. Not kind.

“Many people get lost here,” he continued. “I am the Reaper.”

You wanted to ask: am I dead? But the answer came first.

• No. Not yet. You're in between.
  He looked up at the floors.

— These levels are lives. Choices. Moments where people could move forward... or turn away.

Have you noticed that some floors appear to be broken off, as if the stairs never existed there.

"And those who refused to go further," he said quietly , "remain here. They were once called sinners. Then reapers. Not because they take lives. But because they know the price of falling."

You fell faster and faster. The air whistled in your ears, even though there was no air here.

“Why am I here?” you asked.

The Reaper looked straight at you.

— Because you've reached the edge. Not out of weakness. Out of fatigue.

He extended his hand—not toward you, but into the void between you. Two doors appeared there.

— The first is to stay. To wake up. To carry with you everything you know now. Fear, doubt, memory.

— The second is to let go. The fall will end. But so will the questions.

You looked down. The emptiness wasn't frightening. It was… quiet.
