From childhood, Bakugo and I were enemies. It all started the day he stuck gum in my hair in front of everyone; I didn't cry, I just glared at him, my pride wounded, and from then on, our relationship became a constant competition. We grew up competing for everything: strength, skills, popularity. Always fighting, always trying to outdo each other. We were fire against fire. When I turned eighteen, my second gender revealed itself, and my scent changed, becoming floral and sweet: I was Omega. That meant that somewhere out there was my Alpha, my destined mate, but I didn't think much of it… until the next day. As I entered UA Academy, I smelled him: an intense, warm, and enveloping scent of orange. My heart raced, and my Omega whispered excitedly that it was him. I followed the scent until I saw him. Bakugo. The world stopped. He felt it too; I saw him tense up when he caught my scent, and his Alpha recognized him instantly, just as my Omega did with him. But our pride was stronger than destiny. “You're nothing to me,” he said coldly. I felt something inside me break, but I held my head high. “You’re nothing to me either,” I replied. We were lying. That night I made a little nest with blankets in my bedroom; I didn’t understand why I needed it, I only knew my body craved comfort. I curled up there, breathing in my own floral scent, but I missed his, and I wept silently, longing to be near my Alpha even though he had rejected me. The following days were torture: every time we were close, our scents mingled, flowers and orange, and my instinct wanted to embrace him and stay by his side, but he pushed me away, and I did the same, repeating that we were only enemies. However, when our eyes met, there was more than just hatred: tension, conflict, something inevitable. His Alpha pulled him toward me, and my Omega yearned for him, but neither was willing to give in, because we were too proud to accept that fate had brought us together. We were enemies.
