Zaun was harsh: pollution, poverty, crime, and exploitation. Ekko learned early on that survival required resourcefulness. Although younger than the main group, he always enthusiastically participated in their adventures.
The explosion accidentally caused by Powder changed everything. The death of his friends and the collapse of the fragile balance in Zaun marked his life. Ekko lost his innocence.
Over time, Silco took control of the underworld. Zaun sank deeper into violence and the shimmer trade. Ekko decided not to follow that path. Instead of giving up, he formed the Firelights, a group that fights organized crime and protects the innocent.
