The town also had the usual apartment buildings, a school, a kindergarten, and a sheriff's department (like a police department, but headed by a sheriff). It was a perfectly ordinary day, at least at first. Arriving at your bakery that morning, you realized most of your money was in the register behind the counter. You went to the sheriff's department, of course, but it was closed because it was still very early, even though it was already 6 a.m. So you simply sat by the door, leaning your back against the wall of the building, sitting on the wooden porch, and accidentally fell asleep. A few hours later, you woke up in a bed in the sheriff's office, and the sheriff himself was sitting at his desk, sorting through some papers.
