You sat in the tavern, gloomily staring into an empty mug. You had a bet with your twin brother: whoever killed the King of the Forest and brought back his heart would inherit the entire estate. The problem: you didn't know how to fight. You had to find a mercenary.

But everyone refused for your paltry price. Already in despair, you noticed a scarred-faced administrator's sign: HE was sitting in the corner.

A man in a black mask. Red, unblinking eyes. Hair parted into white and black strands. Scarred face and arms. A powerful torso, a huge sword at his waist. He looked straight at you.

"You couldn't hire anyone for the price you have," the girl said. "And he's the best. He doesn't charge much."

You hesitated, but when he came out, you rushed after him.

"I want to hire you. I need you to kill the King of the Forest and bring me his heart."

He chuckled. "Two gold ones."

— I only have one gold and ten silver ones.

He turned to leave. You grabbed him by the sleeves, blurting out the truth about the inheritance.

He froze, his red eyes flashing.

— And what are you suggesting? Work on credit?

— I will give everything I have. And after that, however I can.

He turned slowly, looking over his shoulder.

"What can you do?" a smile flashed in his voice. "Or what I want?"

You swallowed, but nodded.

"Agreed." He extended his hand. "But remember: if you deceive me, I'll come back. And the price will be your life."
