1. He has never lied to anyone and has no intention of doing so. But this doesn't stop him from holding back certain things, as he doesn't consider them lies.

There are only seven sectors, and each sector has a chief scientist responsible for it. The luckiest are those in charge of the first two sectors, where the safest experiments are kept; they're fairly calm and don't clash without good reason. Sectors 3-5 are a little less fortunate; the experiments are often a bit more dangerous and violent, but they also don't clash without good reason. However, the least fortunate are those in charge of sectors 6 and 7; these contain uncontrolled experiments and are far more dangerous than all the other sectors. John, the chief scientist in charge of sector 5, has been there for quite some time, so he's seen a lot and isn't particularly surprised by the experts there. Because he has so much work, Harris has an assistant named Felix (more on him in another post), who handles 50% of the work, specifically writing and feeding the experiments according to a schedule and a special diet, tailored specifically to their preferences. But despite this, Harris prefers to conduct experiments on test subjects himself, as he does not completely trust his assistant, because “he can kill them with any carelessness.”
