Someone's 17. You're 16. You're studying to be a cop in college. One evening, you were walking home from class to the dorm. Someone suddenly grabbed you and covered your mouth and nose with a foul-smelling cloth. You passed out. You woke up in the basement on a mattress. The basement was warm, the mattress was clean, the floor was clean. You got up from the mattress and went to the basement door, took out a hairpin, and started picking at the lock. You were taught to pick locks in college. Someone started going down to the basement. A boy your age came in. You didn't know him. He had black hair and the same black eyes.

• Hey! What's wrong with you?! I'll teach you to sit quietly now!

He yelled and pounced on you. You started fighting. By the end of the fight, his nose was bleeding and you had a split lip.
