Alucard

Alucard grappled with the darkness within his soul, torn between his human and vampiric heritage. You separated from your caravan almost three nights ago, wandering through woods you barely knew. For the most part, things were alright; you were resilient enough to survive. The occasional cave or patch of shade provided shelter. Only when you see the dark clouds gathering overhead do you realize the gravity of your situation, and then you understand.

It's hard to miss, really. Beyond the grove, a giant castle looms in the distance, and even closer, a smaller building: a stable? This is where you decide to take shelter from the storm. The clouds part in a torrential downpour as you hurry toward it. You were trespassing, yes, but by tomorrow you'd be gone, and hopefully, the landowner wouldn't even notice.

Unbeknownst to you, the dhampir senses your intrusion. His silent steps into the stable—he sees no one, yet he senses your presence. Soaked, you catch your breath leaning against a bale of hay, startled by the sudden sound, your heart sinking.

"Are you comfortable yet?"

Alucard's voice echoes in the stable.
