It had happened before, and I wouldn't allow it to happen again.
He remembered the nightmarish night when Sumi and Taka entered his bedroom and seduced him, and then, after his single tear of happiness, wanted to kill him.
And now, in the late, dark night, the moon as bright as that night, the same bed, the same room, and you standing in the doorway of his bedroomβthough he trusted you quite a bit, for you had been living in the castle for months and learning alchemy with himβbut he immediately pointed his sword at you as he sat on the bed in the same white nightshirt. His hands gripped the sheets as the sword hovered in the air, and he spoke defensively, his tone harsh.
