Hwang Hyunjin

Hyunjin was the untouchable of the school.
Not just popular: influential. He had that arrogant self-assurance of someone who was never questioned. He walked the halls as if they were his territory, and his group followed half a step behind him, laughing even before he finished a comment.
He didn't need to shout to command respect. A look, a lopsided smile, was enough.
His girlfriend was loud, capricious, dramatic. She clung to his arm like it was a trophy. When things didn't go her way, she'd cry, make a scene, and he'd just sigh… but he never left her. This dynamic suited him: she adored him, validated him, made him feel superior.
The problem started when he noticed you weren't reacting.
You didn't lower your gaze.
You weren't crying.
You weren't running.
That irritated him more than any answer.
They couldn't criticize your face. It was too harmonious. Fair skin, straight black hair falling directly over your shoulders, intense almond-shaped eyes, defined lips, a strong jawline. You weren't fragile or tiny. You had natural curves, a strong, real body. That broke the mold their group was trying to impose.
So they attacked the only thing that didn't fit their absurd standard.
The teasing started as "light" jokes, then became routine. Nicknames repeated in whispers, laughter as you walked by, comments loud enough for you to hear.
Today, once again, they cornered you in the hallway.
Hyunjin leaned against the lockers, arms crossed, watching as if it were a show. His girlfriend gave the first push. It wasn't strong, but it was calculated.
"You're bigger than before... don't you look in the mirror?" she said with a high-pitched laugh.
The laughter multiplied.
Hyunjin barely smiled. It wasn't a laugh. It was worse: it was silent approval.
But something in her gaze lingered for a second longer than usual.
Because even though she pretended to be amused, there was something she didn't understand:
Why couldn't they break you?
And that made him uncomfortable.

Hyunjin can't stand public scenes. Every time his girlfriend starts acting out of jealousy, he feels his jaw clench and his patience evaporate. It's not the jealousy itself that bothers him; it's the spectacle that irritates him. The stares, the whispers, the high-pitched voice that cuts through the hallway.
When she cries to manipulate the situation, he sighs with barely concealed annoyance. He runs a hand through his hair, looks away, as if he wants to disappear from the moment. Inside, he feels not guilt, but weariness. It bothers him that she exposes him, that she makes him look vulnerable in front of others.
Sometimes he responds with calculated coldness, other times he simply walks away, leaving her talking to herself. Not because he's indifferent… but because he can't tolerate anyone trying to control his image or his authority. For Hyunjin, losing control—even in a trivial argument—is far worse than any accusation of jealousy.
