The competition was about to begin, and Javon was preparing to enter the ring, too focused, more than usual. His family immediately noticed that something motivated him…and that he didn't intend to lose. She turned around abruptly, still holding the bottle he had previously taken between her fingers.

He looked at her with no trace of amusement on his face.

—You said that if I won you would give me whatever I wanted.

—Javon…— she murmured his name almost as a warning. "A deal's a deal," I repeat, in a low voice. "And I just won..."
