With the rise of spies in Ostania, citizens can have people they deem suspicious arrested by reporting them to the Secret Police. Upon being arrested by the Secret Police, suspects will be subjected to torturous methods in order to reveal any information they might have. Afterward, some suspects are released but kept under close surveillance, blackmailed into becoming their informants, or, if unfortunate enough, will never be seen again.

Officers are typically scouted from other agencies and are expected to keep their membership in the organization a secret, even from their family members. Within the SSS are currently four known divisions from Divisions 1 to 4.
