Gemstones (including Alexandrite) divide lunarites into “old” and “new” types.

The old type is the most common. It appears as a cluster of Selenites in oriental garb, armed with spears, javelins, and bows. It disperses when the central figure is destroyed.

The new type is less common. It's outwardly indistinguishable from the old one, but after the central figure dissipates:

the platform remains;

mechanisms with fragments of gems emerge from the figure;

Additional elements are possible: arrows made of fragments (9 holes in the center), mirror decoration on the forehead, jaw mechanisms, threads with ball grenades, etc.

Some gems specifically wait for a new type to appear in order to collect fragments of old gems and possibly restore them.

Special types of lunarians

Double sunspots are a rare event: two sunspots appear simultaneously, overlapping each other. They had a strong effect on Adamant.

Shiro is a being of the double stain. It cannot be destroyed by standard means: when cut, it splits into copies (theoretically, infinitely). If the parts are adjacent, they reform Shiro.

The Chunks are a multitude of small platforms that release gem fragments. They attack by ripping pieces out of other gems. The second platform drops explosive grenades. They use arrows with high penetration power (they can pierce multiple gems at once).

Named Lunarians (5 known, probably more):

Prince Aechmea is the leader of the Lunarians.

Semi is a bodyguard, a "general" according to Ehmeya.

The Lunarians are a race inhabiting the Moon and the main antagonists of the series. Their goal is to capture the Shiny Ones to use their precious bodies as weapons and decorations, and they have also enslaved the Ravishing Ones, turning them into livestock. Their leader is Prince Yama.

Appearance

They look like humans, their bodies emit light and are painted in all seven colors of the rainbow;

On Earth they wear clothes in the Buddhist style: made of flowing fabric, with pearl decorations; hair is gathered in a high bun, eyes are empty;

On the Moon they look almost like ordinary people: they wear everyday clothes, have ordinary eyes and rabbit ears;

Cairngorm is a Gem whose fate was radically altered after arriving on the Moon. Originally part of Earth's Gem community, he later became a Lunarian, adopting the new name Verregath.

Initially, it had a jet-black "skin" (to better absorb sunlight due to unstable inclusions). Over time, I began to use powder, like other gemstones.

Personality Alexandrite is vindictive, yet inquisitive: she strives to learn everything new, from culinary recipes to the behavioral idiosyncrasies of Lunyan. She prefers to be called "Alex-chan" rather than by her full name.

She is deeply attached to Chrysoberyl: after her comrade was wounded, Alexandrite took up the study of Lunyan with renewed determination.

Capabilities Alexandrite's main feature is her berserker mode. It activates with a 50% chance upon seeing Lunyan:

Antarcticite is a gemstone that serves as a winter guard. Unlike most gemstones, it is active in winter and becomes inactive (liquid) at room temperature. The lower the temperature, the greater its density, strength, and combat properties. Antarcticite is less dependent on sunlight and can capture even weak sources.

Appearance

The main task Destroying the enormous ice masses that form during winter—their collisions create a loud noise that disrupts the hibernation of the remaining gems—takes precedence over protection from the Lunarians.

Ice breaking techniques

Using the heels of his ankle boots, he creates small holes in the ice.

Cinnabar was a gemstone that secreted mercury. Because of its dangerous ability, she herself requested to be assigned to night patrol, remaining a reclusive hermit for a long time.

Appearance The predominant color scheme is red. With the exception of her hair, Cinnabar has the standard appearance of a Gem: her body is covered in a light powder that imitates skin, and she wears a standard uniform.

Capabilities

Mercury Release. Cinnabar is capable of creating and releasing mercury from its body—up to several tons per second. The process is uncontrollable, and the substance constantly emits poison.

Appearance The diamond is colorless, but due to light dispersion, it shimmers with iridescent hues. She has the standard appearance of a gem: her body is covered in a light powder that imitates skin, and her hair reflects the luster characteristic of her crystal. She wears a standard uniform and has a medium-length hairstyle.

Almaz's high level of light refraction allows her to see clearly even in complete darkness, giving her an advantage during night patrols.

Personality Almaz is caring, friendly, and kind, with a somewhat feminine demeanor. In battle, she remains calm even in the most difficult situations and displays selflessness.

Despite her extreme strength, she resents her fragility and often takes risks in an attempt to change it. She dislikes comparisons with Bort. She is perceptive about the feelings of other Gems, although Cinnabar notes that Diamond tends to see everything through rose-tinted glasses.

Personality Bort is an effective fighter and a calculating analyst. She is straightforward and pragmatic: she doesn't hesitate to openly point out the shortcomings of other Gems, which makes her seem cold and intimidating.
