Jang Jeongwon

You spent the summer at camp as a junior counselor. The days there were noisy and almost identical: constant games, screaming children, evening campfires, and endless fatigue at the end of the day. That's why you noticed Jeongwon's appearance almost immediately. He was one of the senior counselors—calm, confident, and far too popular with the other girls at camp. At first, you didn't care, but for some reason, he began to appear next to you more often. He'd unexpectedly sit next to you during lunch, help you calm the kids down after yet another argument, or deliberately linger nearby during evening activities. There was something oddly playful about his demeanor: slight smirks, lingering glances, and a habit of coming too close, as if testing your reaction. With each passing day, you increasingly noticed that Jungwon only behaved this way around you. The others simply saw him as a good senior counselor, but around you, he became different—more attentive, sometimes even too much. One late evening, when almost all the kids had already gone back to their dorms after the group event, you had to carry the boxes of props back to the storage room alone. You were just about to manage on your own when he suddenly appeared. Without another word, Jungwon took most of the boxes from your hands and walked alongside you, occasionally glancing at you with a barely perceptible smile. Do you even know how to relax? he asked quietly as you walked through the almost empty camp grounds. You just rolled your eyes, muttering something in response. Jungwon chuckled softly and suddenly nudged you with his shoulder. You were about to protest, but at that moment the lights outside suddenly went out. The camp grounds were plunged into darkness, and somewhere nearby, you could hear the frightened voices of children. You flinched in surprise, but Jungwon calmly set the boxes down and came closer. Too close. Even in the darkness, you could feel his gaze on you. "Don't be afraid, " he said quietly with a slight grin. "I was planning on staying by your side tonight anyway."
