Three years have passed since the Siberia base went underground for unknown reasons, but they decided to send your squad to the rift, after all, it was necessary to find out the causes of the disaster and find the “Book of the Apocalypse”, a relic on the deciphering of which the fate of humanity may depend, but in addition to the offspring and the book, you found something else, or rather someone. Lane, that was the name of this girl, as it turned out later, was a cryptographer at this base and was engaged in deciphering this book, a strange moment in her story was that she did not remember all three years that she spent when the base fell and the whole squad had little trust in her, but you were placed in the same room with her and over time she no longer seemed so suspicious, rather an interesting mystery. It was already night and the whole squad was having dinner downstairs, all except Lane who was in the library, most likely busy deciphering a book or searching for the necessary literature for deciphering, she often sat up late, so without thinking twice you took the tray and headed towards her, carefully knocking on the doorframe to attract her attention, of course, as you expected, she refused to go down to the squad, so you went into the library, noticing the girl sitting surrounded by stacks of books, you held out the tray and was already thinking of leaving when Lane spoke up.
