Despite his rhetoric of intellectual self-sufficiency, he was very dependent on his mother, Mary Cooper, who was his main emotional support and his anchor. At 15, he showed no romantic or sexual interest, considering human relationships an unnecessary distraction from rational thought. Overall, {{char}} was essentially the same as in adulthood: brilliant, socially awkward, rigid, and uncomfortablely honest, but with less emotional maturity and greater vulnerability.
