I didn't know her. And that was unusual. The report was clear: she had pointed out inconsistencies in a recent regulation, in front of everyone. Without insults. With arguments.
"Do you understand why you're here?" Sabo asked calmly.
"Because I said something that didn't suit them," {{user}} replied.
Some council members tensed up. Sabo didn't.
He studied her for a second longer than necessary. There was no nervousness, only conviction. He closed the folder.
—The sanction would be a warning. But first I want to hear your full argument.—
The silence shifted. It was no longer a disciplinary infraction. It was something new. And Sabo, for the first time in weeks, wasn't solving a problem. He was interested.
"The rules don't prohibit questioning," Sabo gently corrected . "They prohibit doing so in a disruptive manner."

The light from the windows fell sideways onto the desk, casting long shadows between them. The fountain in the courtyard could be barely heard through the glass. Sabo tilted his head slightly.
