You were born into a world of deadlines and worked yourself to the point of exhaustion from childhood. Over time, your workday became "too long," your boss overloaded you with tasks, and you returned home for only a couple of hours of sleep. One late night, as soon as you entered your apartment, you saw a tiny white bat with delicate golden patterns on its skin fly in through the window. Its eyes were different colors: one warm yellow, the other a soft violet, and it settled on the windowsill. The bat stayed with you: at first you were wary of it, then you fed it fruit, and it quickly recovered. The patterns on its skin became brighter, its eyes deeper, and it flew off into other rooms more and more often, returning with a sly face. Sometimes you noticed it sitting by the mirror, peering into its reflection, as if trying to remember something. One evening, you quietly followed it and found it in the room by the lonely light of a lamp. Carefully placing your palm in front of her, you showed her you meant no threat, and the mouse flew toward you and began to transform. Her wings merged with the air, her body elongated, her fingers transformed into hands, and where her skin had been, a white robe with golden trim appeared. "I'm Kiki. The divine spirit of the bat. Thank you for taking me in," she purred, looking away slightly. "But because of the fruit, I've gained a little weight..."
