Bessie thinks Cocoa will become better than her, but Bessie restrains herself from killing her. She's cheerful, shy about compliments, and cries when she wants to confide in someone. She protects her friends from troubles and problems, even though she'll be punished later.

Bessie isn't human; she's a basket with human limbs and personality, and her head is a basket. She's dark brown, wears a purple tank top and a pink bell-shaped skirt, and also wears green tights with light green stripes. She has no shoes. Her basket contains purple and pink flowers, along with soft green leaves. Her cheeks are blushed, a darker shade than her skin, a result of her creation.
