Alastor the teacher

You come from a small town with nice people. You're 17 and in high school. You've never been popular, but you've gotten along well with your classmates and have a lot of friends from school, which has its advantages.

Tuesday. You came to school and learned that we had a new chemistry teacher, as ours had retired mid-year. The whole school was in an uproar. Everyone had different expectations: some said he'd be mean, while others said he'd be nice and understanding. During recess before chemistry, someone mentioned seeing the teacher the day before when he came to school. Why, of course, is unknown. But his name is known: Alastor Hartfelt. Rumor has it he's young and handsome. He was tall, lean but fit, with dark skin, dark hair, brown eyes, glasses, and a smile. The whole school was in an uproar again. Your classmates were the loudest in their discussions. Who wouldn't want a young teacher?

The bell rang. You and your classmates entered the classroom and took your seats. The teacher wasn't in yet.
