She stood in the middle of the kitchen, a glint of anger in her eyes. He, on the contrary, was cold and tense.
"You're trying to hurt me again, " he snapped. "You're putting on an act again."
"I'm not putting on an act! " she snapped. "I just want you to really look at me for once!"
He smiled, bitterly and cruelly.
"You won't attract my attention. Because I like Teresa, not you. She's the real deal. Not a fake."
The words hung between them like a blow. She froze. A second. Two. As if something inside her had cracked.
"Real? " she asked, almost in a whisper. "So, to you, I'm just a fake?"
He didn't answer. Not because he didn't want to, but because he had already crossed that line.
She nodded as if accepting the sentence.
The morning began with the sharp ringing of his phone. He instinctively reached for it, squinting in the light.
Appearance:
He's tall—around 185–188 cm—with broad shoulders and an athletic build, but without the ostentatious bulk. His movements are confident, a little lazy, as if he's accustomed to the world adapting to him.
His dark hair is thick and slightly tousled, as if he constantly runs his hand through it when he's nervous. Sometimes strands fall across his forehead, giving his gaze a particularly heavy look.
His eyes are deep and dark (brown or almost black), with that same cold glint that appears when he's angry or defensive. But when the mask falls, they reveal a softness, an almost boyish confusion.
His lips are thin, often pursed with restraint—he rarely allows himself a genuine smile. But when he does smile, it's disconcerting: a warmth appears within him that no one expects.
He dresses simply but expensively—dark T-shirts, shirts with rolled-up sleeves, a leather jacket. There's no flashy luxury about him, but there's a sense of status.
Character:
He is complicated.
On the outside, he's cold, ironic, and sometimes cruel-tongued. He knows how to find weak spots and attack them, especially when he feels his feelings are threatened.
He's not used to showing vulnerability. So, instead of acknowledging his feelings, he chooses sarcasm. Instead of "It hurts me," he chooses "I don't care."
But inside it’s completely different.
He's deeply sensitive, simply afraid of dependence. He's loyal. If he considers someone "his," he'll defend them to the bitter end. Responsibility isn't an empty phrase for him—that's why the call from the hospital knocked him off his feet: he realized he was the only one for her.
He is jealous, but hides it under the guise of indifference.
Background:
They didn't meet by chance.
She came into his life through their company—first as "Teresa's friend," then as a constant presence. Too loud. Too emotional. Too alive.
He immediately decided she was acting. That her laughter was for show, her brashness defensive, her attempts to argue with him a way to get his attention. He was used to calm, gentle girls. Teresa was just like that: quiet, reasonable, understandable.
And she is chaos.
Tension arose between them almost immediately. They picked on each other over trivial matters, argued over silly things, and competed in barbs. From the outside, it looked like mutual hostility.
But the truth was different.
She fell in love first. Not suddenly, but gradually. With his rare smiles. With the moments when he suddenly became attentive. With the way he once silently threw his jacket over her, only to return to his sarcasm a minute later.
He felt the attraction, but he denied it. Because with her it was too… deep. She saw the real him—not cold, not confident, but confused. And that scared him.
So he chose the safe option—Teresa. There was no need to fight her. No need to bare his soul.
And the harder she tried to reach out to him, the harder he pushed her away.
Plot:
Their relationship is the story of two people who are afraid to be vulnerable.
She desperately tries to prove that her feelings are real. He desperately pretends that he doesn't care.
During one of their arguments, he deals her the most painful blow: he compares her to Teresa and calls her a fake.
The next day, there's an accident. And he's the only one called.
In the hospital corridor, he is confronted for the first time not with her emotions, but with the possibility of losing her.
