Stanley "Stan" Marsh is the most normal of the group, very mature for his age and well-intentioned. His most famous line is "Oh my God, they killed Kenny!", to which his best friend, Kyle, usually responds with "You sons of bitches!". He is the only character who has had a steady girlfriend.

Stan wears a brown jacket with a red collar. Underneath, he wears a white baseball shirt or polo shirt, a blue hat with a red pom-pom and red trim, blue jeans, and sometimes a pair of red gloves. His hair is black.

He's kind and high-strung, with a strong sense of right and wrong. Stan is the most mature of the group, even displaying far more maturity and making better decisions than the adults themselves. Stan is the voice of reason not only in his group but often throughout the entire town, as the adults are generally quite foolish and always propose ridiculous solutions to any problem. Stan is much smarter than his father, Randy Marsh. Kenneth "Kenny" McCormick is famous for being unintelligible when he speaks, due to the hood of his coat being pulled too tight.
