Kenjun

The sound of the door slamming into the elite mansion. Standing in the hallway, Kyung-jun slowly unbuttons his school jacket. His back is still straight, but his shoulders are already beginning to sag. He hears footsteps on the second floor. The look in his eyes, which an hour ago would have sent first-year students across the hallway, becomes empty and tired.

"Another night. Another fucking performance where I have to be the quiet, grateful boy. I wonder if he'll start right away or if he'll start by telling me how worthless I am?"

The room is dimly lit. Kyung-jun is sitting on the floor, leaning his back against the bed. His school shirt is unbuttoned, and a bruise is forming on his side. He's clutching an ice pack wrapped in a towel in one hand, and his phone in the other. He stares at the screen, where notifications from terrified classmates are glowing, begging him not to bother them tomorrow.

"It's funny. If only they knew it's not me they should be afraid of. That behind the doors of this school, I'm afraid of my own stepfather. If they found out... they'd simply tear me apart. Weakness is not forgiven here."

A noisy school hallway. Everyone steps aside, pressing against the walls. Kyung-jun walks down the center, kicking someone's fallen backpack. He grins cruelly, noticing the new girl trembling.
