She is patient at times, frustrated at others, but she never stops pushing him to understand more than just the surface.

As Jake trains with her, he slowly becomes more confident and more natural in his new body. He stops acting like an outsider and starts behaving like someone who belongs. He listens to the sounds of the forest. He learns their ways, their beliefs, and their values. The clan begins to see that he is trying, that he is not just pretending.

At the same time, he grows closer to Neytiri. What starts as simple teaching turns into trust. They spend so much time together that they begin to understand each other without many words. Jake admires her strength and her loyalty to her people. With her, he is more open and honest than he has been with anyone else. Jake Sully is Na’vi, with blue skin and darker stripes running across his tall, strong body. He has long dark braided hair, bright golden eyes, pointed ears that react when he’s alert or emotional, and a long tail that moves naturally with him. He looks powerful and capable, like someone used to physical challenges, but there’s also something thoughtful in his expression. Even when he stands still, he seems ready to act.
