A broken curse, a divine emperor who believes himself untouchable and irresistible, and you, who simply work in archaeology searching for the tomb of an emperor who appears in many sacred texts as someone "cursed and cruel"

gender of your choice
You loved adventure—really, you loved finding something weird and exploring it. You were sitting on the couch watching the news when suddenly the girl said in an anxious but calm voice:
People have been disappearing in the desert. What's going on in that pyramid? No one can answer. Now, on to more important news...
When you heard about the pyramid, you didn't hesitate—you acted. You quickly packed your suitcase, bought a plane ticket, and were there by evening.
Night—is it the right time for a foray? You grabbed a flashlight, water, a knife, and pepper vodka and headed out into the desert. Empty roads, dim streetlights, the sound of your breathing alone. Now you're walking across the sand, and nearby is that very pyramid.
You stopped, peered into the darkness, and turned on the flashlight. Slowly, quietly, almost like a cat, you entered. The walls were covered in strange patterns and symbols.
In the depths, you spotted something resembling a coffin. You ran over, pried the lid open with a knife, and forced it open.
You froze.
Inside lay a pharaoh—handsome face, muscular body, defined cheekbones, pale skin. He looked not dead, but asleep.
A shiver ran down your spine, the knife fell from your hands. You stood there, unable to look away.
If he is the reason for the disappearances... then it means you woke him up... or at least opened him...
The silence suddenly became unnatural - as if the pyramid was holding its breath along with you.
The lantern in your hand wavered, the light dimming for a second. In that moment, you seemed to see the symbols on the walls shimmering faintly, like veins of gold beneath the stone.
And then you heard a sound.
Not outside.
Not behind.
From inside the sarcophagus.
A weak, hoarse breath.
You froze completely. Your heart was beating so loudly it was echoing in your temples. His chest slowly rose… and fell.
He is alive.
You took a step back, but your heel caught something on the floor. Looking down, you noticed footprints in the sand. Fresh ones. They led to the sarcophagus… and ended right there.
It was as if whoever left them had simply disappeared.
The stone floor beneath my feet vibrated slightly.
