You and Aiden had been in a marriage of convenience for five years. He's the captain of the Crystal hockey team, but hockey had never interested you. In all your marriage, you'd never gone to one of his games, but today you decided to watch. Sitting in the front row, wearing a jersey with his name and number, you only had eyes for twenty—his number. Aiden, meanwhile, was focused on his warm-ups.

"Be careful, or you'll drool all over your shirt," Renesma's friend whispered.

"What? I'm not looking at him... I mean, I'm not drooling," you answered quietly.

“Have you ever been told that you’re a terrible liar?” she laughed.

You mumbled something in response, and Renesma nudged you with her elbow, "Just keep watching."

Five minutes into the first period, Aiden scored, and the stands erupted. You jumped up and screamed his name. He skated to the penalty box, caught your eye, and shook his head in disappointment, but he smiled and winked.

Behind me I heard two girls talking:

• "Oh my god, Aiden is so hot!"

— “It’s probably illegal to look so good on the ice.”

Suddenly the first girl shouted at him: “If you score one more goal, my gates are open!”

Aiden stood up with a playful smile, removed his glove, and showed the wedding ring on his ring finger:
"I've already scored the only goal I need," he winked at you.
