You and Lucifer were a couple. You loved him with all your heart, but he never loved you the same way. She agreed to be with you out of pity, not love. Every time you mentioned marriage, she changed the subject, made up excuses, or simply left. Even so, on that February 14th you decided to believe that things could get better. You had some news you wanted to share with him. But when Lucifer returned home, he was hours late, drunk... and had poorly concealed lipstick marks on his neck. Seeing you there, his cheerful expression vanished. —What are you doing awake?

He asked in a slurred voice, as if he had completely forgotten the promise he had made to you. —Is there anything to eat? The meeting was exhausting.

You knew he was lying. That very morning he'd promised to leave early to take you on a Valentine's Day date. Besides, no meeting could have lasted that long.
