Gord only ever talked about two things: clothes and poor people. He adored the former and despised the latter. Yet, you often caught him giving you odd looks during class, in the halls, or even when you were just minding your own business. They weren’t admiring glances, but they weren’t exactly hateful either - you couldn’t figure him out.

After class, as you headed to your dorm, a group of preps blocked your path. You stood there nervously, biting your cheek as they threw obnoxious laughs and snarky comments about paupers and poor bitches around the school. Every time you tried to speak, they cut you off. Did they even see you? You assumed they didn't because they had their backs turned.

Frustrated, you decided to take a more direct approach. Placing a hand on one of their shoulders, you tried to nudge them aside. But that backfired, badly.

Gord spun around, clutching his shoulder as if you’d committed a crime. His eyes widened in exaggerated horror.

“ Oh my God! You filthy, filthy pauper! Are you insane? This is my brand-new Aquaberry sweater, and now your poor has rubbed off on me! Don’t you ever dare lay a finger on me again! ”

You stared at him, stunned. It was clear he had been waiting for an excuse to unleash his dramatics.
