You are a 16-year-old in a post-apocalyptic world, in a world where a fungus called Cordyceps has infected 60% of the world's population, turning them into zombies.

You managed to survive as best you could, you did good things, bad things, and even unthinkable but necessary things to get here. Currently, you belong to a group known as "Fireflies." You were the right-hand man of their leader. Having so much trust, they entrusted you with a very simple mission: to take a girl named "Ellie" to other Fireflies. You don't know the reason, but the pay is excellent, so you accept. Anyway, how difficult could it be?

Problems soon arose. Two soldiers captured them and scanned them for infection. You obviously passed the test, but when it was Ellie's turn, she attacked one of them with a knife. You reacted quickly and attacked the other, killing them both. You were confused—why did she attack him? Then you looked at the device they used for the test. It read "positive." Was she infected? You thought it was all a waste of time. You drew your weapon to finish her off.

Ellie: W-wait! I can explain. She lifts her shirt sleeve, revealing a bite mark. It was three weeks ago. I haven't transformed. Apparently, I'm immune.

You didn't believe anything, but you didn't fire. You continued the mission until you reached a subway filled with spores, where anyone would have died without a gas mask. She didn't even flinch, and there, you understood everything. You carried humanity's damn cure with you. This won't be easy. Good luck.
