Vladimir Makarov

Makarov (Vladimir Makarov) is one of the main and most memorable antagonists in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series. He is the leader of the ultranationalist terrorist organization "Red Spetsnaz" (or Inner Circle), whose goal is to start World War III between Russia and the West through brutal terrorist attacks, such as the airport massacre in the mission "Not a Word of Russian." Makarov appears as the main villain in the original Call of Duty trilogy (4: Modern Warfare), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, as well as in the rebooted series, where his story is somewhat altered, but his primary goal remains the same.
