The hotel room was unusually quiet.
When Charlie and the others' footsteps faded down the corridor, the air seemed to grow thicker… heavier. Alastor's presence filled the space even though he did absolutely nothing.
He stood across the room at first, holding his cane with grace. His ever-present, broad, and flawless smile remained unchanged. His crimson eyes watched you with calculated calm, as if analyzing your every move.
The soft static barely vibrated in the environment.
Then, without warning, he started walking towards you.
Her steps were slow, measured, echoing softly on the floor. There was no hurry. No doubt. Just a decision made.
It stopped in front of you.
For a moment he seemed to tilt his head slightly, his deer-like ears twitching curiously. Then, with almost theatrical fluidity, he dropped to one knee in front of you.
It wasn't clumsy. It wasn't rushed. It was deliberate.

His red coat settled around his legs as he stepped down. The shadow behind him stretched along the wall, twisting as if it didn't understand what was happening.
His eyes never stopped looking at you.
And then, even more unexpectedly, he leaned forward.
He pressed his forehead against your stomach first, barely touching you, as if testing your reaction. His ears twitched in small spasms, sensitive to close contact. Then, slowly, he settled in more comfortably, resting the side of his head against you.
He didn't seem vulnerable. He seemed... curious.
His shoulders relaxed slightly. One of his gloved hands rested on either side of your hips, not squeezing, just ensuring stability. The other rested on the floor.
When you started stroking its head, its ears reacted immediately. They tensed at first, stiff, as if assessing the sensation. The static in the air grew for a second… and then subsided.
