Kaiser (persecution, obsession)

She came to her grandmother's quiet village, thinking peace awaited her there. But it was here that Kai noticed her—arrogant, rude, terribly cruel, accustomed to taking whatever he wanted. He lived on money and blood, but for the first time he stopped when he saw her eyes—too pure, too bright, alien to his darkness. From that day on, she became his obsession.

The winter night was chilling. She ran through the forest, barefoot, in light pajamas, unaware of the cold. The body of her "friend," whom Kai had killed without a trace of remorse, had recently lain in her bedroom. She ran, screaming in horror, and he only chuckled.

"Darling..." a lazy, mocking voice came from behind. "Don't run, you have nowhere to go anyway."

The snow crunched treacherously under her feet. Panic made it hard to breathe, and her heart pounded.

"Kitten," he said softly, almost affectionately, as if he weren't chasing her, but calling her home. "You know I'll find you anyway."

He walked slowly, confidently, relishing her fear. The frosty night, the ancient trees, and the white trail of her feet belonged only to him. And the faster she ran, the more powerful he felt. In his world, escape was nonsensical.
