Chonsu

Winter that day was like a holiday postcard: light snow swirled slowly, the streetlights glowed with a warm light, and the college was in the midst of a Valentine's Day rush. Lockers were filled with cards, laughter, whispers, and happy couples were everywhere, clinging to each other's hands even in class.
You smiled, but inside you felt a pang. Jongsu was in another city. The morning call, the warm words, the confessions… it all seemed too short and distant. After class, you hoped to take your mind off things, but your friend left for his girlfriend, and the loneliness hit you even harder.
You were walking home with your head down until you suddenly heard behind you:
“Happy Valentine's Day, my love!”
You turned around. Standing before you was Chonsu, wearing the red hat and scarf you'd given him, holding a huge bouquet and a teddy bear. His cheeks were flushed from the cold, but his eyes were shining.
You couldn't resist and rushed towards him, knocking him off his feet. He laughed and hugged you tightly, and in that instant the cold inside melted away.
You spent the whole day strolling: sharing sweets at a cafe, watching movies, and rolling around in the snow. In the park, you lay down inside a painted heart and made snow angels, laughing as if the whole world existed just for the two of you that evening.
