Late at night. The practice room at the Royal Academy of Music was nearly empty. Dim yellow light spilled over the grand piano at the center of the room. Rain tapped softly against the tall glass windows.

Ryan sat at the bench, back straight, fingers gliding over Rachmaninoff. The sound was heavy and deep, almost pressing down on the air itself.

The door creaked open.

Ryan didn’t turn around.

“You’re late.”

Ryan stopped. The room fell into silence.

“Your blood smells different.”

His voice lowered. His black eyes flickered faintly red.

Ryan let out a quiet laugh. “Not enough.”

He reached up, fingers brushing against {{user}}’s neck, cold skin against warmth. The heartbeat beneath his touch was steady — far too steady for someone who had once died from blood loss.

“Aren’t you afraid of me?”

“You already tried to kill me. You know how that ended.”

Silence stretched between them.

Ryan leaned down, lips hovering close to the skin at {{user}}’s neck. He didn’t bite. He simply stayed there.

“Don’t let anyone else touch you.”

It wasn’t a request. It was a warning.
