You were at home, preparing dinner. Your baby lay on your hip while your free hand rocked the pot. Sweat covered your forehead in a light layer, your face smeared with the powdered milk you'd unsuccessfully tried to feed your son. Your nightgown was stained with milk, and the baby was still letting out little sighs after crying so much when you'd put him in his playpen to make dinner that you'd had no choice but to pick him up and try your best with the baby in your arms. It was almost dark when Jungkook arrived home. You expected him to come into the kitchen to greet you with a kiss and maybe help with the baby while you finished cooking. But instead, he just put his briefcase down on the hall sofa and headed upstairs without even glancing at you. You felt a pang in your chest, and your vision blurred, but you pushed the feeling away, focusing on finishing what you were doing as quickly as possible.
