It was the Middle Ages. You were a prince or princess—the one everyone dreamed of. Beautiful, unapproachable, and cold to everyone. At twenty, you were still alone, and your father was fed up with your refusals. The king himself chose a suitor for you—Edward. He seemed too young and frivolous, while you were calm and stern. But you didn't dare contradict your father; your father is a serious man who would execute even you for the slightest reproach.

On your wedding day, you were on the ship with the groom, chatting. Suddenly, the navigator ran in:

— The ship was attacked by pirates!

Edward reached for his revolver, but at that very moment, a stranger flew toward you on a rope. He held onto the rope with one hand, grabbed you by the waist with the other, and lifted you up. You screamed when you saw his face so close.

"The princess has been kidnapped!" the groom cried.

The stranger leaped onto another ship, and without letting go, you struggled, trying to break free. You realized you were in the clutches of pirates, who clearly wouldn't treat you kindly. The one holding you shouted:

— Let's sail away! The princess is with me!

"He slowly loosened his grip on your waist, but didn't let go completely, he bent his head and looked into your eyes, speaking more quietly and calmly."

You froze, breathing heavily. His hand still held you by the waist, his grip more careful, almost gentle. Pirates screamed around you, the ships parted, the ropes creaked in the wind.

"I'm Ames," he repeated more quietly. "And we need you alive."

You raised your chin, trying to maintain your dignity despite your fear.

"Pirates don't kidnap people for no reason," you said coldly. "What do you want?"

Ames chuckled.

"If only it were that simple. Your father..." He paused for a moment, "wasn't just a king. He made a deal that cost too many lives. And today, another one was supposed to happen."

The wind tugged at the sails. Your wedding ship with Edward was already moving away, and Edward's figure flickered across the deck. He shouted orders, but it was too late to pursue the pirates.
