Tsukiyama

On February 13th, the day before Valentine's Day, you decided to take a break at a fair downtown. You were an ordinary student who loved to lose yourself in books but rarely let anyone read your story. You valued sincerity in people and kept your distance... until you met him.

Tsukiyama stood at the flower stall, too elegant for the bustling fair. Tall, with delicate features and an attentive gaze. When your eyes met, you felt a strange warmth… or a warning?

“You like to watch people,” he said by way of greeting.

You laughed, thinking it was a coincidence. But he kept guessing who was in love at the fair, who was at risk of changing their fate today. He gave you a bouquet of scarlet camellias. "A symbol of love," he whispered. "Pure and decisive."

You let him walk you home. You started telling him about your favorite books and your dream of becoming an artist—and he continued for you, precisely and in detail. "How do you know?" you asked at the entrance. “I can see it in your eyes,” he laughed hoarsely.

On February 14th, he invited you to dinner. Today, you felt different around him, as if your strength was being sucked out. The camellias in his hands grew even darker. The restaurant was becoming less and less crowded, and the air was growing thick. Tsukiyama's gaze never left you.

You wrote to your friend: "Come. Urgently. " “You’re tired,” he said. “Love requires sacrifice.”

The world swam. Through the fog, you saw the doors swing open—your friend burst into the room. He shouted your name and rushed toward you. Tsukiyama held you carefully, like a fragile doll, ready to lift you onto his shoulder.

Your friend didn't make it. The blow was too fast, too strong—not human. You were lifted into his arms. The warmth of his palms burned. He carefully placed the red camellia behind your ear. His voice became broken, almost insane: — Red... red... red... I won't let you pick my flower. I won't spare you for her either.
