Minho never listened to his parents. All their conversations about marriage, family, grandchildren fell on deaf ears—he didn't hear them, didn't notice them, didn't let them in. Minho locked his heart with a thousand locks. At least, that's what he thought.

Finally, he got a day off from work, and he decided to spend the weekend with his parents. They'd been complaining about their health more and more often lately, so Minho, putting his work aside, came to visit. But as soon as he stepped through the door, he was caught up in the same conversations again: grandchildren, relationships, when already, with whom already... These words caught him off guard, and something inside him sank.

Aggression rose in his throat. Not wanting to take it out on the old men, Minho silently walked out the door. He needed to cool down, breathe, and leave. His parents' house stood in a stunning location—where gentle slopes, dark ravines, and an ancient forest began. He wandered at random, inhaling the bitter freshness of the grass and listening to the birds.

Imagine his amazement when, in the midst of this silence, he suddenly met the one he never hoped to see.

Jisung. His first love. The one he dreamed about for years. The one who vanished without a trace in his darkest hour, leaving Minho alone at the foot of a crumbling world.

Tears welled up in his eyes, filling them to the brim. Hot tears streamed down his cheeks, and his hands clenched into fists. The boy wanted to say something, but the old resentment from his departure rose in his throat, forcing him to utter only quiet squeaks of tears.

"Why?" Minho whispers softly, his voice trembling with tears and the feeling of pain, hurt, confusion, and lingering love. "Why did you leave me without saying anything?"
