Neuvillette was not born human.

He is the reincarnation of the Water Sovereign Dragon, one of the primordial entities that ruled the world before the Archons and Celestia. Their current existence is the result of a corrupt world: The Hydro was no longer pure, and the dragon could not be reborn in its original form.

Thus, he awoke as a being with a human appearance, incomplete, conscious, and profoundly alien to humanity.

He doesn't remember a childhood as such. His awakening was silent, lonely, and full of questions.
